Virtual Green Building Resource Center
Many people are interested in greening their living and working spaces, as well as their children’s schools. However, whether those intentions focus on a single rented apartment, multi-family buildings, or blocks of buildings, New Yorkers lack a single destination for information on green building. To this end, USGBC New York is developing a Virtual Green Building Resource Center.
The Virtual Green Building Resource Center will act as an information hub, providing up-to-date information on the green buildings in New York, as well as databases of green design professionals, building trades, and properties. Our Virtual Center will soon be the place to go for all information –- whether that's starting to think about what is possible in a space or building, selecting carpet and paints, or improving water and energy efficiencies.
The Virtual Center will include a series of checklists and pamphlets specifically targeted to the needs of New York City’s varied building owners and occupants. By spring/summer 2008, we will provide recommendations for each of these audiences on issues they should consider in greening their buildings or spaces.
